Saturday Riding Programme - Summer Term 2008
Weekend Horse Riding Activities- Summer Term 2008
Dear Parents and Pupils,
Please see the programme below to see if there are any additional riding activities that you would like to attend. Places are limited so will be given on a first come, first served basis. Times will be confirmed when final numbers are collected. Children can sign up for these sessions directly with me at school. Children are also welcome to bring their own ponies from home to take part. The children will be expected to help groom and tack up before riding.

Riding Activities-
Sun 20th April- Cranford House Inter School Team SJ- B.C.A.
Sat 26th April- 2-4pm Clear round SJ. Beginning at 1ft9. Progressing to 2ft9 throughout the afternoon. This event is aimed at children with their own ponies. Mr Fleming’s group will be able to borrow a school pony if required. Small prizes for each CR. £10 for a maximum of 4 rounds.
Sat 10th May- 10am Beginners hack for those on or just off the lead rein (walk and trot only). Offers of help to lead the ponies would be appreciated. £10 per child.
Sun 11th May- Abbey School Inter School Team SJ- Wellington Riding Centre. Names to Miss Middleton by 25th April at latest. Cancelled due an outbreak of strangles at Wellington.
Sat May 17th- 2pm Improvers ride- a hack for children who are confident at walking, trotting and a steady canter in an open space. £10 per child.
St. Andrew’s School are holding an event at Hall Place, Tilehurst on May 18th. Please contact me if you would like to take part in this event (children with own ponies and transport only). There is clear round jumping (entries on the day). The SJ classes are as follows- class 1- 2ft- 2ft 3, class 2- 2ft3- 2ft6, class 3- 2ft9-3ft, class 4- 3ft-3ft3.
There are also dressage classes- Prelim 7, Prelim 18 and Novice 24. (£6 per class individual, £44 per team of 4).
Entries to me by May 6th.
Summer SJ league- Sat May 31st, Sat June 14th and Sat June 28th.
These shows will start at 2pm.
Class 1- 1ft-1ft9
Class 2- 2ft-2ft3
Class 3- 2ft6-2ft9
Rosettes will be awarded to 6th place in each class.
Points will be collected during each show and cups awarded to the child who has gained the most points on one pony in each class during the 3 shows.
These shows are aimed at children with their own ponies. Mr Flemings group will be able to borrow a school pony if required.
£3 per class. More details nearer the time!
