As part of their studies of early history, Form 5 spent a lovely autumn day in the school grounds acting the part of Celts. Lewis reported that the best part was getting sticks from the forest. 'Yes' said Katya, 'we made tomato soup and vegetable soup round the camp fire.' Chloe added, 'We had chicken drum sticks cooked on the fire'. 'We learnt that the fire was to keep the bugs away as well as keeping warm', said Lewis.
The pupils are really excited: 'We learnt about the beds which the Celts made from straw and animal skin. And on Monday we are going to Butser Farm to learn more about the ancient peoples'.
