"On Tuesday the 14th November 2017 a group of pupils went to the Holme Grange Performance Poetry competition.
Emilie Jourdain got us off to a brilliant start in the Year 5 section with her recital of a poem called Mrs Briggs’ Cat. She won the gold medal in her category which is a great achievement. Next up was Alex Brown. Alex also did well, coming 3rd in the year 6 category with his poem, The Word Party.
In the year 7 category Molly Lee was 2nd, with a very emotional recital of No Man’s Land by Eric Bogle.
After this it was my turn and I managed to come 3rd in the year 8 section with The Mad Gardener’s Song. After this the duet section started and Aaron Ford and Christian Myhill did a really great job in coming 2nd of all the duets with a hilarious performance of The Cats’ Protection League. It was a really good day with everyone being placed in the top three of their category and we would like to thank Mrs Beckers for taking us and Mrs Craig for helping us prepare."
