Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May
This weekend Lottie Backhouse, Oscar McCall, Nancy Harper, and Milly Assheton competed at Stonar School in a one day event.
On Saturday Lottie competed on Pasha in the 80cm class and had a brilliant day. Lottie was very pleased with a really nice dressage, and she and Pasha did lovely clears in both the show jumping and cross country, just picking up a couple of time faults for going too fast. They finished just outside the placings.
On Sunday morning, Oscar McCall was in the 70cm class with his pony Stanley who he has only been riding for 6 weeks. After a strong dressage test and lovely clear show jumping they just had a couple of stops on the cross country course.
In the afternoon, we had two competitors in the 90cm class: Nancy Harper on Lemon Twist and Milly Assheton on Todd. Both of them did very good dressage tests and gained marks in the low 30s which was very competitive as the judging was tough!
Nancy and Twist, who was by far the smallest pony in the class, just had one stop in the show jumping but the rest of their round was lovely and they finished the day with a brilliant clear cross country inside the time.
Milly and Todd did a lovely clear in the show jumping and were also clear cross country but picked up a few time faults which put them outside the placings.
Despite some of us getting very wet it was a lovely weekend. Well done everyone!
