Triathletes put up great performances at Bradfield College

For many of the 84 Brockhurst and Marlston pupils who took part, today was the first introduction to professionally organised triathlon competition.

The three disciplines were swimming, cycling and running and the event took place at Bradfield College. The majority of our teams were highly placed but especial congratulations go to the Form 1 and Form 2 teams (12 to 13 year-olds) Guardians of the Galaxy Bear, The Restless Cheetahs  and The Rugby Demons ) who took first, third and fourth places.  And to watch their practised and amazingly swift transitions, complete with excellent team work, showed them to be well worthy of their good placings.

Impeccably run by Flight Centre sports event timers, each team had an electronic chip whch had to be passed from competitor to competitor in their team at the transitions points.

Pleasant sunshine made for enjoyable conditions for spectators and athletes alike. The money raised by the teams supports development in Africa, though the charity Restless Development.

A glance at the smiling faces in the photographs shows just how much enjoyment the competitors had.  Full gallery of pictures is at
