The extracurricular program open to the pupils is very broad and seen as a key part of their education. Brockhurst is a country prep school with a large estate offering very considerable opportunities for the outdoor-loving boy.
Pupils are expected to take part in activities and to develop as broad a range of interests as possible. They discover passions and enthusiasms which benefit all aspects of their lives including their work ethic. They learn to socialise and become independent. Their sense of wonder and enquiry is pricked and their enthusiasm and confidence to have a go at new things is encouraged.
Equally importantly, time is also found for boys to be left alone to make their own entertainment. In our view, this facet of education is not well understood in our over-organised world and its value lies in stimulating pupils’ imaginations and encouraging them to invent games, socialise together and just have time and space to themselves - sometimes even, just to sit and think.
The range of activities varies depending on the time of year and its huge breadth and scope is best seen by perusing the Latest News page.
