In recent years, the following facilities have been added:
Our sister school, Brockhurst, has combined a clear philosophy of traditional education with being highly innovative. In 1995, Marlston House was opened with the aim of providing an exactly equivalent quality of education for girls. The opportunity to blend the best attributes of single-sex and co-educational teaching was recognised and implemented. Both innovations have proved to be outstandingly successful.
An impressive programme of building works continues and beautiful architecture, both new and old, together with an overarching concept of architectural layout is seen as an important part of the framework of the pupils’ education and marks us out from many other schools.
Innovative ideas are constantly being developed and the new specialist West Berkshire Learning Development Centre which opened in 2011 in the heart of the school is one such example. It is intended that it will create a regional centre of excellence for the specialist teaching of children of all abilities. It is also the most recent manifestation of our determination to improve the education we offer on a continuing basis.
