Boarding

There is the closest possible liaison between the girls, their parents and the school, since all share in their education. Parents come in large numbers to matches and the numerous school functions and they are always most welcome to take advantage of the opportunity to talk to members of staff. Each new girl is given a guide, who will look after her until she feels fully confident in her new surroundings.

The school is divided into houses and each house has its own tutors who are also the girls' form teachers. There are many people to whom a girl may turn in order to discuss a matter of concern to her including teaching staff, matrons and house tutors. In addition, there is a telephone set aside exclusively for the use of the children.

Marlston House is developing a system of flexi-boarding which enables girls to board for one or more nights a week according to choice. Our aim is to give girls all the fun that is shared in a boarding community and to enable them to take advantage of the many hobbies and activities provided for them during evenings and at weekends.
