EcoHeros' try out a spot of 'Plogging'

The EcoHeros' tried out a spot of 'Plogging' on Monday night in EcoClub.

Inspired by both 'Plogging' and the 'TrashTag Challenge'; they went armed with gloves, bin bags, trainers and enthusiasm to clear up our school grounds.

Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter (Swedish: plocka upp). It started as an organised activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018, following increased concern about plastic pollution. As a workout, it provides variation in body movements by adding bending, squatting and stretching to the main action of running, hiking, or walking

Also there's a new viral challenge spreading across social media, and it's making the world a cleaner place.

The "Trashtag Challenge" is inspiring people on Twitter and Instagram to take a walk outside and clean up any litter they stumble upon.

To participate in the challenge, simply seek out a litter-filled area or overflowing trashcan, clean it up, and share before and after photos online using the hashtag #trashtag. It's incredibly wholesome.
