Football teams find success on the first Wednesday of the season

The Brockhurst football season started with strong and in sometimes decisive victories in a series of matches against Sherfield.

The 1st XI played some exciting moves and won by 4-2.  Captain's report:

Noteworthy performances in the FIRST HALF: ... We won the toss and chose to kick off. We knocked around well moving the ball briskly around the pitch. I passed the ball to Euan , who raced down the wing
crossed it to Jaime, who headed it in to give us an early lead. Sherfield got the ball and counter attacked but George made an heroic save. As the game progressed Freddie, played the ball to Archie
who slotted it in the bottom corner. The opposition got a few breaks but Ben and Harry were particularly solid at the back.

Noteworthy performances in the SECOND HALF: in the second half we spread the ball out to the wings
more but despite many attempts we failed to score. Then Sherfield got a break and with some sloppy
defending we conceded an unlucky goal. Despite this we kept our heads up and Archie shot from a
distance and the keeper punched it back to him: he finished it! Well done to the team and great start
to the season
