Miss Holly comes from West Berks Ballet School and teaches the Italian Cecchetti method.  She has gained Licentiate status within the society.  Pupils will progress to be entered into the Imperial Society of Teaching Dancing exams.  Ballet forms part of the curriculum for Nursery and Reception.

Form 6 Carousel

Carousel and After School Club runs Monday to Friday 3.45pm - 5.50pm.  The timetable of activities is available from your child's form teacher and on the Parents' Notice Board in the school back courtyard.

After School Club for Ridge House/Form 7 @ £18 per session.

Speech and Drama

Group lessons leading to LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) qualifications in Speaking Verse and Prose.
Examinations take place in the Summer Term.

Drawing and Painting Club

• Weekly Art Drawing Club, Thursday morning break in the art room. Suitable for forms 3 and above, especially for those considering an art scholarship to their next school. Some of the topics covered will help observational skills. £25, from 7th Nov – 5th Dec

• Weekly Painting club– painting by numbers, Friday morning break in the art room. Suitable for forms 5 and above. This will help your child’s fine motor skills while creating beautiful results. £25, from 6th Nov – 6th Dec

• Glass Art Workshop, November 3rd 10am 3pm, suitable for forms 4 and above. This outside visiting tutor Shirley Ecccles is a practising glass artist. £25 for the day.

• Oil Painting Workshop, November 23rd 1pm to 3pm and 24th 10am to 3pm, suitable for forms 4 and above. Run by Louise Gunnersen. £50 for the two days

Early Morning Swimming training



Tuesday and Thursday mornings 7.45 – 8.30am followed by breakfast.


£2 per session. The total cost for the term will be added to the school bill.

 Who is this suitable for?

This session is aimed at those children whose stokes are established over 50 metres and are keen to increase their strength and endurance whilst maintaining and refining their technique. Competitive starts and turns are also practiced on a regular basis.

 As these sessions can be quite demanding we usually recommend the pupils taking part are in Forms 4 and above.

 Junior Swimming Training


Saturday mornings 9.30 – 10.30am when school is in session. Dates are on the school calendar and a flyer posted in the pool office


£3 per session.  The total cost for the term will be added to the school bill.

 Who is this suitable for?

This session is aimed at pupils in forms 4, 5, 6 and 7 who would like to further develop their swimming.                                         

Children should be able to swim a length of front crawl and backstroke as well as having a good understanding of breaststroke.

 Extra Swimming Lessons


Monday afternoons 4 – 6pm. Lessons are 30 minutes long and grouped on ability. Small classes (maximum of 4 pupils per class)


£9 per lesson.  The total cost for the term will be added to the school bill.

 Who are these lessons suitable for?

These classes are aimed at those children who, for one reason or another, have found acquiring the necessary skills for swimming more challenging than others and so might benefit from an extra lesson each week.
