Twin Schools Combining the Best of Single-Sex & Co-Education 51 Week a Year Nursery 'The Most Exciting Schools In Berkshire'

Next Open Morning – 21st November

Welcome

Brockhurst and Marlston House are twin preparatory schools for boys and girls aged 2 to 13, set within a beautiful Berkshire estate.

We offer a unique ‘diamond model’ of education, combining the best of single-sex and co-education, with single-sex teaching from Year 3 to 7. This approach allows children to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. A co-educational sport, music and co-curricular programme runs for three hours each afternoon, helping every child flourish as an individual.

Brockhurst and Marlston House children are cheerful enthusiasts, well mannered, and fearless in their willingness to try new things.

  • Lottie Absolom, an alumni pupil of ours (2012–2019) who went on to @downe_house , continues to make us all proud with her dedication, perseverance, and outstanding achievements in weight lifting.

She competed in the Women’s 86kg Junior category at the 2025 EWF European Junior & Under 23 Championships! 🏋🏼‍♀️

We got this fantastic update from @britishwl who shared that Lottie, a British record holder and Junior European medalist, achieved an incredible 104kg snatch (a 3kg personal best) and 120kg clean & jerk (a 2kg improvement), giving her a 224kg total, a 6kg PB and earning an impressive 6th place overall!

We’re so proud to see her strength and determination shining through, congratulations, Lottie! #brockmarl #alumni
  • 🎆 Happy Bonfire Night! 🎇

Form 1S have been busy getting the Guy ready and prepped for later this week, complete with a boiler suit stuffed with hay, a football for a head, and some wonderfully crafty touches for the face and straw hair!

We can’t wait to celebrate a wonderful evening with you all🔥✨ #brockmarl
  • Our Head Boy & Head Girl led their very first pupil assembly, setting a brilliant example of leadership and confidence. They were joined by Rafe, who gave a thoughtful and engaging reading, adding a reflective note to the occasion.

The children sang a beautiful hymn that filled the hall, and Jia-Arn performed an exceptional cello solo, you can hear his stunning piece as the background music in this video.

The assembly also celebrated many of our pupils’ achievements, with commendations and awards presented for effort, kindness, and success across school life. It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces and to recognise the hard work happening every day across the school. #brockmarl
